New Product Development Process - Development Stage
The objective of the development, or implementation, stage is to develop the product based on the specifications and development plan approved at the Business Plan review. This stage encompasses the major design/development steps including software and hardware development, tooling, packaging design and prototype building.

Deliverables during the development stage include the following:
- Completed design reviews and issue resolutions
- Software code complete
- Hardware development complete
- Prototype builds to reduce technical/market risks
- Manufacturing processes and test development complete
- Technical documentation
- Packaging complete
- Updated Business Plan
- Final cost estimates
- Marketing Product Introduction Plan
Upon approval at the Post Development Review, the program will enter the testing stage.
